About Aston Martin

Founded in 1913, Aston Martin is a luxury automotive manufacturer headquartered in the United Kingdom. It's most well known for creating the DB5 model used in the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger. Named for one of its two founders, Lionel Martin, the company creates several racing cars and has its own Formula One team in Silverstone, England.

The first official Aston Martin automobile was the 1908 Isotta Fraschini, one of the earliest examples of a sports car. The car, a 2-seat racing and touring vehicle, was manufactured to race in the Grand Prix des Voiturettes race. This model was used as a prototype for an Aston Martin production car, the FE Non-Competizione or FENC. Today, Aston Martin makes a variety of luxury automobiles and race vehicles. Its current model lineup includes the V12 Zagato, Rapide E, Rapide AMR, V12 Speedster, V8 Vantage S, Vantage GT8, Vantage S Roadster, DBX, and DB11 Volante.

Aston Martin recently announced its strategy to electrify its vehicle line, saying the company will have its first plug-in hybrid by early 2024. This will be the Valhalla, a mid-engine supercar. The company also said it will have its first battery-electric vehicle by 2025 and that all model series will have an electric option after 2026.
