2021 JEEP GLADIATOR The 2021 Gladiator -- the most capable Jeep truck ever -- offers the most torque and best driving range with the introduction of the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine. The new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine, rated at 260 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque, with engine stop-start (ESS) technology standard, is available on Gladiator Sport, Overland and Rubicon models. To handle greater torque loads, the EcoDiesel V-6 connects to a newly added TorqueFlite 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission, calibrated for low RPM shifts and the on- and off-road rigors of Jeep Gladiator duty. There are more than 40 individual shift maps to optimize shift points for fuel economy, performance and 4x4 capability. Gladiator builds on a rich heritage of tough, dependable Jeep trucks with an unmatched combination of rugged utility, authentic Jeep design, open-air freedom, clever functionality and versatility, best-in-class towing and 4x4 payload, advanced fuel-efficient powertrains, superior on- and off-road dynamics and a host of innovative safety and advanced technology features. Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel Sport, Overland, and Rubicon models feature third-generation Dana 44 front and rear heavy-duty axles. Additionally, all Gladiator EcoDiesel models feature a 3.73 axle ratio. The Rock-Trac two-speed transfer case with a 4.0:1 low-range gear ratio is standard on Rubicon models and the Command-Trac part-time two-speed transfer case with a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio on Sport and Overland models. The heritage-inspired center stack features a clean, sculpted form that complements the horizontal dashboard design and sports a finish dictated by the model choice. A hand-wrapped instrument panel features a soft-touch surface with accent stitching on Gladiator Overland and available on Rubicon models.

- Gas Guzzler Tax
Manufacturers of new cars that fail to meet the minimum fuel economy level of 22.5 miles per gallon (mpg) have to pay a “Gas Guzzler Tax”. The tax is intended to discourage the production and purchase of fuel inefficient vehicles.
- Destination Charge
A destination charge is a fee that comes from the cost of delivering a brand new vehicle to a dealership. Cars have to be prepped for transport, delivered, then prepared for sale at the dealer, so destination fees are an attempt to recoup those costs.
